How to crack Winrar password

 
Today i am back with an interesting topic which is about cracking winrar password. Many people download stuff from internet but unfortunately they require password. So in this tutorial i will teach you how you can crack winrar password. Hope you will like it.

 So lets start!

Requirements: 

• A De-Assembler (I prefer Hview and Hackers Disassembler)
• Resource Hacker
• Patch Creator

you can download all these stuff from Google.

How to crack Winrar Password?

Fist of all you need a good or little knowledge of assembly language and if you don't know this language then you can just follow my steps. I will be cracking Winrar 3.80 Version because i got it but you can also crack the latest versions so don't worry and concentrate on the tutorial.

Copy the Winrar.exe file to the desktop and make copy of it.

Step 1: Hunting Memory Addresses:

Now open the Hacker Disassembler tool and load winrar.exe in it.

Now Hacker Disassembler will di-assemble the winrar.exe in its assembly language and then you can search for the required string that is used in winrar program. So for this just press CTRL+F and then type evaluation and search for its code in assembly language.

When you will reach the block of code by searching then look and that block of code above it. You will find there some assembly values that are being compared and then that code is jumped from its position to some other function. Now find evaluation copy carefully function must be invoked after some sort of specific condition is met. All we have to do is to look for the code and make certain changes to its condition so program does not checks for the condition.

You can see that what code it got

00444B6A: 803DF4B84B0000 cmp byte ptr [004BB8F4], 00
00444B71: 0F859B000000 JNE 00444C12

This code is responsible for the validation of a legal user. So copy the memory address that leads to jump (JNE) at some particular memory location. In my case i will note down 00444B71.

NOTE: This code might be different for different versions of Winrar but don't worry because the JNE will be same.

Now we will search for that code which pop-ups that "Please Purchase Winrar License" window when your trail period is over. So for this see your toolbar and clock on D which means Dialog References.

Now in dialog box that opens search for please and then you will get the reference like ID-REMINDER, Please Purchase Winrar License.

Double click on it and you will get require code.

The code look something like this:

* String: “REMINDER”
0048731A: 68EB5E4B00 push 004B5EEB

Now again do the same thing and note down the memory address that invokes the REMINDER dialog. In this step it is 0048731A.



Step 2: Fixing and Patching


In this step we will patch up values of memory addresses that we copied in previous step. I will use HVIEW for this purpose. Now load the copy that you disassembled in Hview.

When you will load it you will see that the code will be unreadable. Its same as opening .exe file in notepad. So need have to decode it. To do that just press f4 and you will get option to decode it. Hit DECODE and you will see code in assembly language and memory addresses.

When you will do this then you need to search memory addresses which you copied earlier. So just press f5 and search box will appear. Now you need to type memory address. For doing this enter a "." and then type memory address neglecting "00". The "." is for "00". e.g:
type: .444B71 instead of 00444B71.

 

and search the required code

Now you will get the code then you have to make some changes. Press f3 and you will be able to edit it. Now make the following changes:

After doing this save it by pressing f9.
Now search the next memory location by pressing f5. Go there and make following changes by pressing f3.

Now press f9 to save and f10 to exit.

Step 3:  Spicing up the exe

Now you got 100% working exe version and you might want to change your registration info in winrar. For this you can use Resource Hacker tool.

now launch the tool and load that copy of winrar.exe

Now navigate to  DIALOG ==> Expand tree ==> ABOUTRARDLG and click on it. Now you will find Trial copy line and replace it with your favorite according to your wish.

now click on compile button

 
And then save the file with any name you want on your desktop or any other location.

Finally you have successfully patched the winrar now you can either use it or you want to distribute it.

Step 4: Creating a working Patch 

I will use diablo2002's Universal Patcher (UPE) for creating patch. This will gives you an unlimited winrar. So launch the Patch Creator and click on add project. Then enter the info about project and click on save. 

Then  Click on Add == > Offset patch.

After doing this double click on offset patch and then
give the path of original winrar.exe
give the path of unmodified path or winrar.exe
give path for patched winrar.exe
click on compare and it will show you the differece between both the files
and then click on save.

 Now in next window click on create patch button and save it. And patch will be created now copy it in winrar installation directory and hit on patch and i will patch the winrar.

Finally you have successfully patched the winrar
